Love season is almost here and I personally believe donuts are the perfect sweet treat! I love donuts but I only eat cake donuts! Crazy right? You’re probably thinking what the heck girl? A donut is a donut? BUT NO WAY. Cake donuts are sooo much better than a donut you can buy at dunkin. I actually only started eating them about a year or so ago. I was in Sedona and went to a place that only makes cake donuts and I WAS IN HEAVEN!
They are so good, it’s basically like eating cake but in donut form! Yes please! Since I don’t live in Sedona (I’ll be going for my birthday though so yasss) I decided to make them myself at home and put some cute little toppings on them. I mean its beyond fun and the kids especially love decorating them.
The recipe is so easy to make and it can be done in an hour. Including the decorating. I did some fun Valentine’s Day one this year and I did mini donuts! How cute right? I seriously can’t get enough! The best part is you can totally do what you want with them.
I have a regular sized donut mold as well that I bought off amazon but I got this cutie from Target! Stay tuned and I’ll include a free Printable recipe so you can add this to your recipe book for easy access!
•Preheat over to 350 degrees
•In your kitchen aid or mixing bowl mix together all the dry ingredients (flour, salt, baking powder, sugar and salt)
•In a small bowl mix together your wet ingredients (egg, butter, milk, vanilla)
•Stir wet ingredients together with dry ingredients
•Put the mixture (once no clumps) into the donut pan (will link the one I have)
•Do not fill to the top. Fill about 3/4 of the way making sure not to cover the center.
•Bake for about 10-12 minutes (check with toothpick
•Take out and let cool before removing them
•Have fun and decorate however you’d like.
For the toppings I grabbed some valentines sprinkles from target, chocolates, coconut shavings, sweethearts, & some cookie icing (to write with)
Enjoy these cute printable recipes I put together to make it easy! Print it off and add to your recipe book so you don’t have to come back to my blog each time! (I promise you’ll wanna make them once a week if not more)
