It’s almost like our own little tradition now! We always make sure to drive to flagstaff and on the way out of Sedona we would drive past these adorable little cottages that ran across the creek. The creek is called Oak creek and every single time i just admired it as we drove down 89A. So lush, the creek runs through the entire property! Me being an Aquarius i love water and Ofcourse my kids do also!
I always saw the sign “Briar Patch Inn” as we drove past and I’ve always wanted to just drive down. It’s always been a goal of mine to stay there after i looked it up. So, I knew ONE day I’d stay at Briar Patch Inn, when i got the email about the trip, i almost cried.
You can somewhat see how magical it is by just driving past but it’s nothing like actually getting to drive down that narrow road. It’s surrounded by beautiful green trees and rustic cabins.
Upon arriving we were greeted immediately and they were SO kind, the lobby was absolutely beautiful. It’s so peaceful and has a wood burning fireplace with a little space to sit and read books, a cozy snack area, and the outside of it is just as stunning as the inside with all the decor! It really just makes you smile and feel so welcome and homey. Check-in was such a breeze and our cabin was called the CREEKSIDE cabin. (Which we got to pick and it was so hard to decide.)
This is one of the busiest times of the year and yet it was still so peaceful. Parking was right outside of the cabin and the first thing we saw was the beautiful deck that was right off the creek with a wood burning fireplace! The view was INCREDIBLE.
After just admiring the beautiful sound of the water we went inside and I WAS IMMEDIATELY IN LOVE. (Truly never wanted to leave) As soon as you walk in you see this rustic old kitchen that is just the cutest and the living area that had a HUGE glass window so you can watch the fire and hear the water from the inside when it’s to cold. All the decor and everything was the cutest. It’s gave me such an old school vibe and i loved it!!

We got to eat a delicious dinner and then relax by the fire and roast some marshmallows to make s’mores! Which was so special because as a kid i camped all the time with my grandparents and we roasted marshmallows every single time. S’mores are my favorite and now my kids love them just as much as me! (If not more) It was just PERFECT, sitting by the fire and listening to the water! It really was so relaxing!
Aubrey had her own little room and it was ADORABLE! We could hear her yelling “omg i love this place so much” it was the cutest thing ever!
I have to say i think her favorite part was the PONY named Appy. A PONY!! Amazing right? The sweetest pony ever, she just walks around the property and guests can feed her apples. Aubrey was absolutely in awe. I mean look at all these photos! My heart!
Once we got done feeding Appy, we went down to creek and my goodness was it amazing. Being that close to the water was peaceful and just so beautiful, we all loved it! Aubrey’s favorite thing is rocks and water so she didn’t want to leave! They have a seperate spot that is perfect for summertime because it’s a swimming hole! Can’t wait to check that out next time!
All in all we had the most magical time. I could write forever and it still wouldn’t truly show the magic of this property
We got to enjoy each other’s company, no WiFi, no tv’s, just us and nature. It was the best getaway we’ve ever had to Sedona and we can’t wait to plan our next trip back.
