The pressure is real… 5 tips for homeschooling this year.

I think we’re all struggling with the same thing… do we homeschool or not?

This whole corona thing has really messed up most of 2020. It sucks. When it came time to decide for me it was honestly a no brainer. Homeschool was the way to go. it sucks some parents don’t have this option but for me since i’m home anyways, I figure why not?

To me back to school wasn’t really “back to school” She couldn’t have recess, she had to wear a mask all day, lunch wouldn’t be the same, I mean really why? What 6-7 year old is going to wear a mask all day anyways? they’ll be playing with them and eating them (lol)

Last school year, when corona hit, it was a HOT MESS. The school was flustered and didn’t know what to do. It really sucked, she didn’t get a kinder graduation, nothing. It just ended so fast. I think it really affected her.

So when I decided to homeschool, I was thinking about her and how she’s already been affected by this entire corona thing already.

I am so so blessed to be able to stay home with her and if you can’t then nothing is wrong with that either. We all do what’s best for us. I have her set up to do ISCHOOL. So she’ll still have a teacher and we will still have playdates.

To be honest, I’m not sure how well it’s going to work, if she’ll do okay or what. I knew though, her going back to full time school wasn’t the right option for us.

No matter what you decide, know that it’s okay.

We’re all just doing our best and everything is a little messed up. This is just a temporary situation and hopefully next year they’ll be able to resume normal school again.

Here are 5 tips for homeschooling this year.

Here’s a few things I grabbed from target dollar spot to help us with homeschooling this year. It was super inexpensive and they even had some cute little cubbies to keep things organized. I plan to get a 3 drawer to organize all of her school stuff so it doesn’t get all ruined and end up everywhere. (Kids)

What I got!

All the cards, these will be so great for aubs! I can also use these for DJ when he gets a little bit older.
These books will be perfect for a little weekend work.
I love these, I was going to make my own but then I saw them at target for $1! What a steal!
Sight words are always a huge hit! She does so well. & Who couldn’t use some practice writing!?
This I grabbed for some fun! I don’t want her to be overwhelmed with school from home, So this will be a fun thing to do!

I love the “whatever you decide, know that it is okay”. We have to give ourselves grace through this. It’s all brand new. Honestly, I think a blessing in a really unfortunate package.

We’re doing the same thing this year and I’ve found the Target dollar spot to be the place to go!!

  3. Dollar spot at Target is my go to for everything! I loved this!
