If you follow me on Instagram, you know I’m obsessed with plants. You win some, you lose some. I have close to 70 plants and I’ve only killed two. One being a SOP (strong of pearls) which is suppose to be impossible to kill. Well Ofcourse, I’d kill that one. They like really really bright direct light and my house just doesn’t have that. Minus my daughters room, so I grabbed one for her and stuck it in there.

So I’m always asked about my plants and what the easiest ones are. So I’m here to tell you the top 5 plants that are easy to care for and don’t necessarily need bright light. Some of my plants are so so dramatic but these 5 have been so easy to care for!

POTHOS!

I started with my Pothos. They don’t mind shady areas, they don’t need to be watered very often and they grow so beautifully! I’ve had one for almost 3 years and it’s thriving in a corner! I water her about every 3-4 weeks.

MONSTERA!

The next would be a monstera deliciousa! I’ve had my beauty for almost 3 years also and she’s thriving! She gets some morning light but not a ton and she does so well not being watered super often. I keep it in the playroom and man does she thrive there! She’s grown so much since I got her and I just love watching her sprout new leaves! I water her about every 2 weeks or so. (Not to much or she’ll get root rot.

ZZ PLANT!

Then you have a ZZ PLANT. This little thang just thrives on being neglected sometimes (HAHA) I forget to water her and yet she’s still thriving. It’s pretty easy to maintain. She’s sitting in some indirect light so she probably likes that. I water her about every 2 weeks.

SWISS CHEESE PLANT!

Swiss cheese plant. Probably one of my favorite. They really like to be left alone. I water her close to every 4 weeks. She sits and doesn’t get much sun (her leaves will burn if she gets direct light) So easy to maintain.

SNAKE PLANT!

The EASIEST plant of all time. THE SNAKE PLANT. These babies seriously thrive in neglect. They handle low lighting very well and no watering. I just got a huge one about 3 weeks ago and it’s grown so much. I started with a smaller one and when I saw how fast it grew I knew i needed a bigger one.

So there you have it! The 5 must have beginner plants. So easy to maintain and aesthetically pleasing! I’d love to know if you have any house plants or if you plan to get some! Leave a comment below!

Xoxo until next time, Cheyenne!
