A Bedroom Makeover For My 9 Year Old.

Spread the love

I have been wanting to do a bedroom makeover for my daughter for awhile now. Honestly when we moved into our home, we didn’t have much so we took hand me downs and nothing is wrong with that at all but we are in a place where we are financially secure so I’ve slowly been revamping every part of house, every room and my daughters bedroom was one I’ve been wanting to redo for a long time. I just didn’t really know how I wanted to redo it.

I will link it all at the bottom in case you don’t want to read it all! Enjoy!

Well, I finally searched Pinterest for hours and hours and I made it what I wanted while also making it something I knew she’d absolutely love.

I think I nailed it. I redid her bedroom when she was away at nana’s and it was pure magic when she walked in and saw it. I honestly wish I had her bedroom when I was younger and if you follow me on ig or tt then you’ll know I’m all about giving my kids what I never had. So this was such a bittersweet moment even if it seems so small to anyone reading this.

This might not be some people’s cup of tea but we absolutely love it and more importantly she is absolutely in love. She was already a ‘room body’ lol but even more so now that she has a room she loves!

How I redid the room!

So, the first thing I knew I wanted to get was a dresser, so I got that months ago thanks to DaVinci. I ordered the knobs on amazon and they are PERFECT! I got the knobs off amazon as well.

Let’s go to the bed frame, she had the same bed frame for YEARS before this and it was old, had nail polish, was beat up, missing knobs and just not it at all. I knew I wanted a house bed frame and I found this white one on Zulily and knew I had to get it. So simple but my gosh so cute. I plan to get more greenery and lights to make it full but they only had 3 at HomeGoods so i just grabbed those and ran with it. She has a canopy on it as well that she loves but doesn’t want it on the ceiling. This is her cozy place.

Then, we move onto her nightstand, she has one that just didn’t match at all and it was just not it! None of her stuff really matched, but she had furniture which some don’t. I grabbed this one from target and it was absolutely perfect to match the rest of her furniture in this space. It has a spacious drawer and i added the cute basket on the bottom to hold her books and things. I got some dividers for the drawer and organized some of her favorite things in the drawer. Also peep her art she put on the wall, Love!

I snagged this shoe rack from HomeGoods (i think) and put it in her closet for shoes, added some books and even some baskets for extra storage. She loves how easy it is to find shoes now! (So do i, no more throwing shoes around in the morning to find the match)

Older things but they work well

We have this vanity which she has totally outgrown and I can’t seem to find one that I like for her space but this one from HomeGoods is so cute and will work for now. She loves it and says “it fits my stuff perfectly” so for now it’s perfect! The stool is also from HomeGoods.

Aubrey’s had this swing in her room for years and she is just as obsessed now as she was the day I put it up. It’s old, dirty and could use a wash but man does she love that swing. Her and her brother love to swing each other on it!

There you have it. A sweet and simple bedroom makeover that was such a blast for me! She loves it and it can only get better from here and we upgrade the little things. I love being able to do these things for my babies. It’s truly magical being a mama.
