Ever since I had my daughter I knew I wanted a second baby, hoping it would be a boy but happy with either because I wanted Aubrey to have a sibling! Before I even got pregnant with him I was pinterest-ing all kinds of baby themes! You know that crazy thing all is girls do?!?
I knew regardless of gender I wanted to do that in someway! The red buffalo plaid was my jam! So fast forward to finding out I WAS PREGNANT with baby #2! (A shock) I went bananas (what expecting mama doesn’t) I just started finding all the cute things and making boards!

Around 15 weeks pregnant we paid to get an ultrasound done to find out the gender early since my doctors office wouldn’t do it until 20 weeks (I now understand why).
We were told the baby was a girl but I knew that was wrong. Check out my blog post on that. Pistols or Pearls.
Once that ultrasound at 20 weeks CONFIRMED IT WAS INDEED A BOY and after all the tears were out, I knew I was getting to do my lumberjack theme and it was so fun getting to decorate and plan and put stuff together! I like to DIY stuff so we made cute little plaques to go in his room!
I got all kinds of cute stuff and my followers even sent some adorable outfits for him and other stuff. (Not pictured)
We couldn’t wait for baby boy to make his arrival and once he did it was pure bliss.
My sweet babes shirt for seeing her little brother for the first time. It was magical.
Hat and swaddle is from Milkmaid goods.
Just a few photos of my little 8lb baby once he was born. Everything was plaid. I mean the cutest right?
(Ultrasound from being told he was a she then again at 20 weeks when he was clearly a he)
We had a BBQ, BEER & BABY TALK instead of a baby shower and it was lumberjack theme! I kept the diaper cake i made from Aubrey’s baby shower and redid it to match DJ’s theme which was so bittersweet!
(Bad quality but i had to share)
It was such a blast, i didn’t get many photos but i love these!
I made the cupcakes myself. Smores and everyone loved them!
We had such a blast and baby DJ was so loved already! ❤️❤️
Once he was born everything was mostly plaid and animals! I couldn’t help it. He was just the cutest little thing in all his red plaid. I decided to keep it going and do his first birthday photos and birthday party lumberjack theme and It was not only the cutest thing ever but it was SO FUN decorating!
I planned for months (AND I MEAN MONTHS) to make sure it was perfect! We had such a blast with friends and family! I just had to share this amazing time in our lives.

All in all we got our baby boy and getting to do the lumberjack theme was just the best. We still love it so much and every time I see plaid, I’m buying it! He looks so darn cute in it anyways. Plaid is pretty basic but when I fell in love it wasn’t and I’d still do it all over again. We co-sleep but he has his little corner in the playroom & I love how it turned out.
If I was to have another baby and it was a boy, I’d reuse all his stuff. It somehow never gets old and I’m just forever in love with it all.
Hope you enjoyed DJ’S theme and all the photos. We just love our little man so much and so does his sissy.
