Kids Minimalist Christmas Gift Guide

November 21, 2021
Spread the love

So as the years go on, the kids get bigger and I realize more and more that they might love the toys we get them but not for very long. Kids grow so fast and they are over the toys within weeks. So I decided to put together a gift guide for the minimalist this year. If you’ve like me, you don’t like the clutter or the mess so what better way to make sure that doesn’t happen? Minimalist Christmas!

So below are some ideas for what you can give for the holidays. Things that will mean a lot but wont be played with for a day and then done with. I still get my kids a few toys and since they believe in Santa still, I have “Santa” bring them the things they need. Underwear, socks, clothes, etc.

What YOU can gift are things that’ll really mean something…

An Experience.

A trip, Disneyland, great wolf lodge, zoo tickets, anything that they love to do! That’ll also give them something to look forward to after christmas. The gift that keeps giving. This can really be anything. Something local, something not local, anything that gets them excited!

Disney on Ice tickets (that is still a magical experience even for me)

Anything Educational.

Brain Boosting Subscription box, even an educational app like reading eggs or abc mouse.

I also love learning books, puzzles, anything like that, it’ll get the brain going.

Something for arts and crafts. Paints, paper, colored pencils, coloring books. My daughter is very creative and loves anything craft related. She could color and doing arts all day if i let her.

Something Fun yet gets them active.

Outside toys. My kids love to be outside. Plus being outside is good for the soul. So some outside toys. A sandbox, etc. It’ll keep them occupied for hours and keep them outside so atleast they aren’t destroying the house! Amirite?

Things to do together and make it a tradition.

Books! Kids can’t get enough of books! Christmas books or just everyday books. It’ll be something they can keep forever. Do it together or if they are old enough they can even do it by themselves as well.

Movies! We love having movie nights. It’s something we do multiple times a week. Can’t ever go wrong with movies! I like to grab some Christmas movies and add those in our Christmas Eve boxes and then grab some of each kid’s favorites for them!

I also like to grab a few of their favorite snacks. It’s perfect when we do movie nights etc.

Something for the Girls.

Hair bows, clips, fun clip in’s. My daughter loves to get herself all dolled up. So this is something ill def be getting her!

A spa set. My daughter loves to do her toes and nails but taking her to the nail shop can get really expensive so I gave her a spa set and she absolutely loves it! It’s our time together and she even loves doing it herself. It’s the perfect gift and can be used for years to come!

Something for the Boys.

I love getting my son the wooden trucks. He absolutely loves them and he’s played with them for YEARS! Most boys love trucks, cars, etc for years and years and the wooden ones last forever vs those cheap plastic ones that he breaks in a day or two.

Hats, mittens, beanies, etc. He loves wearing hats around like his dad and he loves beanies. It’s something they enjoy and also will need for those cooler days!

That’s just to name a few things you can get for the kiddos to make it special yet things they’ll use beyond christmas. Toys come and go but these things will stay forever. Make them excited and let it still be magical!
