My Sweet Baby Girl Is ONE. The first year.

I can’t believe the time is here. I feel like i just had my baby girl and here we are celebrating a whole year of Amiya. She is just the light of our life. They always say every pregnancy and delivery is different but my first two were pretty similar. I had a feeling Amiya would be different and she definitely was. She was also my first home birth and I wish I had that experience with all 3 of my kids.

My entire pregnancy I was very sick, nauseous and just never really felt great. For a few weeks in my second trimester I felt great but then it was back to being sick everyday all day. It was rough but she was so worth it. Delivery was the quickest I’d ever had. Labor was about 2 hours and delivery was within seconds. I had to have my water broke with my first two kids but Amiya was a whole different story. My water broke seconds before she was born. It was amazing. The first year, wow. It has definitely been hard. Adjusting to life with 3 kids is not for the weak. Those newborn nights up every few hours, the cluster feeding, the blowouts, the attention being on the new snuggly baby is a lot for any family to handle. She has the best big brother and big sister though. She is obsessed with them and they are obsessed with her.

I knew when I got pregnant I wanted to do a Boho nursery even if it was another boy. I longed to have another girl. It has been 9 years since I had a girl and I knew it had to be a girl with how sick i was. I was never sick with my son. So when I actually found out 100% it was a girl, i was absolutely thrilled. Especially because I could do a boho girly nursery! All the cute clothes, frills, bows, are you kidding?

The first year has been amazing and hard all at the same time. I wouldn’t change a thing, she has taught me so much about myself, my life, being a mom, and so much more. She is truly exactly what we needed.

Her first year has been full of so much joy. She says mama, dada, DJ, sis, nana and even jack. She doesn’t crawl, which none of my kids have. Well she semi crawls but mostly just scoots everywhere. (Which is so cute) She has been EBF since the day she was born and still loves her milks. She loves all foods basically, but most days she’s not super into eating real food. She’s losing a lot of her rolls already which makes me so sad. I just love chunky squishy babies. She has 2 teeth and with how she’s been acting I think she has another one coming in as well. She tries to stand so I’m sure she’ll be walking soon. My two oldest we’re walking before they turned one but they weren’t as chunky as my little pumpkin.

So if you haven’t followed me on IG, or anywhere then you won’t know but for my babies, I always do the first birthdays the same theme as the nursery, I don’t know why but i just love doing that. So ofcourse my girls first birthday theme and birthday photos were boho and I just can’t even deal with the cuteness. I was going to do nightmare before Christmas photos as well because well it’s my favorite and my girl is absolutely obsessed but I decided to wait until next year because that’s what her birthday party will be.

All in all this first year has been incredible, hard, trying and more all in one. adjusting to life with 3 kids is so different from 2 kids (ofcourse) so we’re still getting in a routine, big brother is in preschool now so that’s been another big change. I just can’t believe my sweet girl is one. She is truly so much fun.

My favorite things about her is how sassy she is already, her little scrunchy face (peep that below) and the way she points at everything now. She will also tell you exactly what she wants but in her own way. I could go on and on and write an entire book about what I love but if you’ve read even this far, just know, I love you.
