27 years and going… (How To DIY a birthday photoshoot)

Wow… it’s crazy to think I’m 27 years young.. I’ve been through a lot in my 27 years.. honestly at 15 the path I was going down I didn’t even think I’d make it to 25 let alone 27. I’m so grateful everyday that I’m here today. Waking up on my birthday to my kids giggling in the other room, my baby smiling right up at me, my husband bringing me coffee, sunflowers, the sweetest card, desserts & telling me we’re going shopping alone later! I’m so blessed not because of the materialistic things but I’m Married to my best friend, 3 beautiful little humans, a house, a life, MY LICENSE, a new car, I’m beyond grateful & I never thought I’d have this.

I’ve overcome so many things in my 27 years of life. Heart break, pain, addiction, fears, and so much more. I almost died at the age of 15 and man am I glad I’m here today.

Check out my blog on overcoming addiction HERE.

I overcame my biggest fear… Driving. Yes you heard that right. Driving was my biggest fear. I told myself last year I’d get my license and I finally did it! It feels so good but feels so surreal. I have to check to make sure I really have my license sometimes. I’ve had a fear of driving for so long and I still have anxiety and can’t drive on highways yet but I know the day will come soon enough.

One thing I’m going to work on this year is ME. I’m always focused on everyone else. Being a mother and wife is so consuming and we often forget who we are. So this year I’m going to focus on myself, heal myself so I can become a better mom and wife. I’m removing any toxic energy from my life. It feels so good already and what a better way to start 2022?

I’m so grateful for how far I’ve come and I can’t wait to see how much further I go this year. It’s really crazy what is possible when you figure out your worth.

My photographer moved to California so I decided to do my own DIY photoshoot to make myself feel better. I just had a baby a few months ago and we all know how much of a toll that can take on your body and health. I’m so glad I did it because I love how it came out!

Of course my sweet baby girl had to get in on the fun as well! So i snapped some pics!

Its been a long time since i’ve taken photos so i took advantage and got some without the birthday stuff!

Honestly this DIY photoshoot was so easy and so fun! Just figure out what ”theme” you want.

Grab some stuff from amazon or any store really. Set up and shoot! I used my camera on a tripod and had it connected to my phone but you can easily use your phone and a remote or the timer on your phone! The set up was so cute!
